Hey ho, some new stuff:

Unrelated, non military factory level.  Tiles from Mr Tuff on SNES, a cancelled game.

A jellyfish filled underwater area (world 4 or so).

I start implementing the 'Industrial Nightmare' tiles from the topic, the other tileset JudgeSpear posted here in response to my request.

Those screenshots look really good so far! I look forward to seeing how the Industrial Nightmare level will turn out.

Fusion Gameworks is now an independent game developer. We have moved on from making fangames, and as such, we will no longer provide support for our older fangames.

Thank you!

As for the Industrial Nightmare inspired area... that's actually the second part of the Military Nightmare level.  First a war zone, then a remilitarised factory area with mini boss (probably Tryclyde or Fryguy).

I just need to get Metal Slug style soldier enemies coded, and the area would be awesome.

Okay, what the hell is going on with the pictures here?  My dropbox account seems to be loading the wrong images now, so each new image ends up replacing the old ones as well as the new ones.

Either way, you can see my latest updates in the last few posts, by sheer accident.

Well, this project could now be in trouble.  The last few ASM programmers helping with this have now pretty much left SMW hacking for good, which leaves me with issues when it comes to coding some of the custom enemies and bosses the game might need.

So it's probable the game will only be released in demo form, albeit with all shown levels intact. Unless someone here knows programming for the SNES...

You might have better luck shopping your idea in the Talkhaus Forum. The things they did in A2MT were quite interesting. (even if the game wound up the MKF of romhacks in terms of sheer coding weight.)

I've posted about the game there, although no responses yet.

Makes me worry about the future of Mario ROM hacking in general.

Oh man, SMW Hacking dying? Well, it been dying really. Just slowly. All the new hacks really have nothing new in them, nothing like the VIP Serious, Brutal Mario or anything. Back then, new things were always being find, and new things were being done. But now, it is just the same thing being done.

Edit: Try looking on Room Hacking Net. There should be some ASM Programmers there, willing to help. Or Jul

Yeah, it's definitely dying.  SMW Central's activity has dropped off hard in recent months.

I have been looking on ROM Hacking.net, but while interest in the game itself is high, most of that is from people wanting to play it rather than contribute:

Well, it's a tad overdue, but this isn't dead yet.

I also have a half done first castle, more of the ice cave and most of the ice castle level done, but I'm not happy enough with them to show screenshots.
